Teach your parents how to code!

It’s time to teach your children how to code! Get involved in this exciting project brought to you by myKidsy, offering your child (aged 5-12) a unique opportunity to develop essential skills for life in the 21st century. We are in our third year of successfully teaching children how to code in after school clubs.

Fridays at WeWork, 1 Primrose Street, London EC2A 2EX, 5:30pm – 7:00pm

Courses will consist of 5 classes.

The Friday (5 weeks) course will start on 9th September and finish on the 7th October. Costing £99 per child.

The dates are :

9th of September

16th of September

23rd of September

30th of September

and 7th of October

The classes will be supported by our instructors, who will offer guidance, and will follow a detailed curriculum we have developed and adapted to the needs of the age groups. The curriculum has been developed by experienced computing teachers and external advisors, and will be taught by talented Computer Science students/graduates. The beginner class will follow the Scratch program, to learn the basics of coding in a friendly and rewarding way, creating their own projects, building games and programs using ‘building blocks’. The Advanced will have a personal approach using Java with Greenfoot: in six weeks your child will learn how to program in Java using Greenfoot. Greenfoot, developed by the University of Kent, is an interactive development platform where you type your own code in Java to make animations and sounds. With this, your child will be able to create games and simulations. They will learn the basics of Java object-oriented programming and most importantly it is a lot of fun.

Please note: a parent or guardian must be present at the classes. The children will need to bring a laptop.

Early registration is advisable, as places may be filled up quickly. There are 15 spaces for Friday classes. Join us! We are working on partnerships and fundraising so, in the future, we can offer the course free of charge. If you know any potential sponsors or organizations that might be interested in helping us with that please email us on team@mykidsy.com Join us!
