London Wetland Centre - Family Activities - Discovery Centre and Adventure Playground

At London Wetland Centre you’re never at a loss for things to do with the children.

It’s a fantastic day out for kids, not just because you won’t be able to tear them away from the adventure playground and the Discovery Centre, but also because each weekend (and during school holidays) we run activities to keep them amused and inspire them about the wildlife around them.

In Explore, the outdoors adventure playground, they can swoop down the zip wires, traverse the climbing wall, investigate the giant water vole tunnels and get soaking wet in the water games!

The Discovery Centre is indoors and takes you on a journey through the wetlands of the world, from peat bogs to coral reefs. Find out which fish ‘walks’ through mangrove swamps and why the Fiddler crab has one claw bigger than the other. 

Children can play a series of stimulating, interactive games with water, learning about the challenges of building on flood plains or discovering how wetlands filter waste and pollution.
