We like to offer our Babies and Toddlers the freedom to explore and develop through physical movement and to compliment their first steps in the dojo, to explore creatively through artistic expression and developing an enjoyment and awareness of the senses. This well rounded exploration in the the early years help to shape our youngsters into confident, expressive individuals, and quite possibly the martial artists of the future!
The Budokwai Babies and Toddlers provide two sessions; Art and Judogym.
The Budokwai Art Classes are small, intimate, creative explorations, with a maximum of 8 children per class.
Led by two Session Leaders, The Budokwai Art classes are a perfect way for child and Parent /Guardian to bond.
Different mediums are used allowing children to experiment freely with colour, texture and images based around a weekly theme.
Classes conclude with song time and children get to take home their art work.
The Budokwai JudoGym is unique to The Budokwai, hence the unique name!
The fun packed JudoGym class takes place in the fully padded 'dojo' or room. The expanse of space is comfortable and safe allowing children to push themselves and explore their physical capabilities, perfect for budding young Martial Artists in the making! Learning through play is made all the more fun with our energetic and enthusiastic Session Leaders, and it offers the perfect bonding opportunity for the child and Parant/Guardian. With music, songs, bubbles and colours galore, the classes are a feast of fun and educational stimuli.
Children will blossom in our JudoGym classes, we know that as many of our JudoGymers are now Juniors and even Teens!
Classes take place on weekday mornings and operate on a termly basis, three times a year starting in January, April and September. Classes are designed to follow the academic year and to complement school times.
All Art leaders have experience working with young children and pitch the sessions accordingly.
