Design Quest: Space Base - Life on Moon?

This February half term, join us for this creative architecture workshop for children aged 6 to 10. Over two days, we will imagine that our society has left Earth and relocated to live…on the moon. We’ll research, design and build a new world for people to live in, making sure that it caters to the needs of humankind.

About the Workshop

Design Quest: Space Base - Life on Moon?
Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 February 2020, 11AM-4PM, daily
For children aged 6-10

Imagine no buildings existed and we had the chance to design the architecture around us from scratch? How would we live? What would we need? What would YOU build? Join us for this workshop as we imagine that our society has left Earth and relocated to live… ON THE MOON.

Over two days, we’ll research, design and build a new world for people to live in. We’ll begin by learning about real life space explorations people have been carrying out, see science fiction interpretations by artists imagining life in space, and consider the architectural needs of relocating to the moon. We’ll discuss, draw and make collages to communicate and visualise our ideas. Then we will begin to finalise our ideas by using recycled and craft materials to make a small scale model of one our favourite designs making sure that it caters to the needs of humankind.

This creative architecture workshop is led by artist educator Daniel Wallis for children aged 6 to 10 years.
